World events are spread throughout the year, and they include holidays such as the Feast of Winter Veil, Children's Week, Brewfest, and many more. Because many of these events are active for only a few days of the year, timing is everything when it comes to world event achievements. Make sure to check your in-game and Armory calendars, see which achievements you need, and set aside enough time to complete them.
What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been
This meta-achievement is possibly among the most difficult because it requires you to complete a number of achievements from each holiday event. These events are spread throughout the year, so if you've missed one of the required achievements, completing the meta-achievement will take at least a year. The reward, however, makes the time investment worth your while: 50 points and a special Violet Proto-Drake.
World events are one of the most unique and interesting aspects of World of Warcraft. From fire dancing during the Midsummer Festival to egg hunting during Noblegarden, these limited-time events keep WoW players busy the whole year round.
Children's Week takes place during May of each year. During this week, players are asked to take an orphan under their wing and show him or her around the wide world of Azeroth (or Outland). There are various WoW achievements awarded upon completion of certain tasks with your orphan present.
Children's Week Achievements
Earn the "Aw, Isn't it Cute?" achievement for taking your orphan to a series of sights around the world and earning one of the Children's Week reward pets: Egbert, Peanut, Mr. Wiggles, Whiskers the Rat, Willy or Speedy. To get the "Bad Example" achievement, eat one of each of the following sweets while your orphan is watching: Tigule and Foror's Strawberry Ice Cream (available at the Thousand Needles racetrack), Tasty Cupcake, Red Velvet Cupcake, Delicious Chocolate Cake, Lovely Cake Slice, Dalaran Brownie, and a Dalaran Doughnut.
Despite a misleading achievement description, the "Daily Chores" achievement can be earned by simply completing a total of 5 daily quests with your orphan present. The quests do not need to be on five separate days as the description states.Perhaps the best-named achievement in all of World of Warcraft, "Hail to the King, Baby" is earned by defeating king Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle in your orphan's presence. This achievement can be completed on regular or heroic difficulty, just make sure to call your orphan before the fight begins.
Make like Macauley Culkin and earn the "Home Alone" achievement by using your hearthstone in front of your orphan. Make sure to double check that you've actually earned the achievement, as I the game sometimes fails to award it on the first try.
Brewfest Achievements
Brewfest is a popular holiday event that occurs in the World of Warcraft every year at the end of September/beginning of October. It is a celebration of the fruits of the harvest, including various beers and fattening-sounding foods like pretzels and sausage. The main areas for the event are set up just outside the cities of Orgrimmar and Ironforge, though smaller beer gardens exist outside the other major cities and inside Shattrath, as well.
There are eleven World of Warcraft achievements for players to earn, ranging from consuming copious amounts of alcoholic beverages and brewfest foods to taking the time to down the infamous Coren Direbrew or drunkenly defending the festival from a dark iron dwarf attack. There is also one meta-achievement, "Brewmaster," associated with the holiday.
Achievements of Mass Consumption
There are four achievements associated with gorging oneself during the festival. The first, "The Brewfest Diet," is awarded to players who consume each of the following 8 brewfest foods: Dried Sausage, Pickled Sausage, Savory Sausage, Spiced Onion Cheese, Spicy Smoked Sausage, Succulent Sausage, The Essential Brewfest Pretzel, and The Golden Link. There are two separate faction-specific versions of the "Strange Brew" achievement. Alliance players must consume Barleybrew Clear, Barleybrew Dark, Barleybrew Light, Gordok Grog, Mudder's Milk, Ogre Mead, Thunder 45, Thunderbrew Ale, and Thunderbrew Stout. Horde players must drink Brewdoo Magic, Gordok Grog, Jungle River Water, Long Stride Brew, Mudder's Milk, Ogre Mead, Path of Brew, Small Step Brew, and Stout Shrunken Head.
The last consumption achievement, "Brew of the Year," is awarded for consuming each of the twelve beers available through the Brew of the Month Club over the course of a year. They are: Wild Winter Pilsner, Stranglethorn Brew, Springtime Stout, Metok's Bubble Bock, Lord of Frost's Private Label, Izzard's Ever Flavor, Draenic Pale Ale, Blackrock Lager, Binary Brew, Bartlett's Bitter Brew, Autumnal Acorn Ale, and Aromatic Honey Brew.World events are spread throughout the year, and they include holidays such as the Feast of Winter Veil, Children's Week, Brewfest, and many more.
